RHYTHM CIRCLE FOR DANCERS - I might check this one out!
Instructor: Sidiqi An innovative workshop method for belly dancers to internalize the Arabic rhythms fundamental to Oriental dance. Students will learn rhythms in a logical presentation, reinforce the rhythms by playing them on traditional instruments (dumbek, tamborine, zills), and then feel and internalize these rhythms thru dance movement. The goal is to inspire confidence thru familiarity so that even when the music is totally unfamiliar, the dancer will always be able to connect with, and dance to, the underlying rhythms. If you have an percussive instrument you are welcome to bring it, otherwise we will provide! All levels of dancers are welcome.
